The CIS – Facility Identification Code – consists of 19 alphanumeric characters. Regional Law 57/2018 requires all relevant parties to include the CIS in all written, printed or digital materials used for the purposes of advertising, promoting or marketing accommodation services. Similarly, parties engaged in property brokerage, as well as those operating online portals, who advertise, promote or market the activities of the parties concerned, must also publish the CIS on the platforms they use.
The National Identification Code (CIN) is a new scheme introduced at national level for the tourism and accommodation sector, designed to identify properties used for hotel and non-hotel accommodation, as well as for CAV and LT purposes.
